| Northwest Ballet dancers, Tani Wright, Kelly Skomerza, Katrina Shull, Kiersten MacKenzie, Miye Bishop & Mija Bishop competed solely with their ballet repertoire, NBT did not bring jazz or folk dance pieces to the festival. |
| Three awards for Choreography were announced at the Gala Reception. Mr. Tassin of International Youth Ballet received the Jazz Choreography award, The Romanian group received the award for Folk Choreography and John Bishop of Northwest Ballet Theatre received the award for Ballet Choreography. |

Artistic Director John Bishop brought six Northwest Ballet dance students
to compete at the St. Petersburg Open Dance Competition held at the infamous Kirov School in Russia, February 16-22, 2004. This incredibly unique experience went beyond the competition itself, it included taking Master Classes taught by teachers of the Kirov, seeing the world reknowned Kirov Ballet perform at the Marinsky Theatre and numerous Russian cultural experiences including a visit to the Russian Museum of Ballet. |
