Open Classes for
Teens and Adults in Bellingham

This fun and educational Summer Dance Camp for children held at Northwest Ballet in Bellingham, WA is specifically designed for kids 3 years of age and older. No experience in dance is needed, absolute beginners are absolutely welcome! Kids will love the positive atmosphere, discovering creative movement and will thoroughly enjoy their first real steps into the world of dance! Your child will be encouraged daily, while at the same time receiving quality early instruction in dance that can be built on for years to come. "The Difference is Dramatic" at

Children's Pre- Ballet and Beginning Levels:
Our Pre-Ballet Summer Dance Camp will get your child excited about dance as our kind teachers introduce Creative Movement using colorful scraves, hula hoops and other fun and playful props. It  feels like another game as the first elementary steps of ballet and dance are introduced to children and then repeated to build confidence, balance and muscle strength. Music is chosen both to appeal to a young childs musical taste and to open them up to the world of dance music.

Northwest Ballet's beginning level Summer Dance Camps continue the enjoyable structure of our Pre-Ballet dance camps but include slightly more advanced movement combinations from classical ballet and other styles of dance. These young dance students will have fun while building strength, confidence, balance, memory and flexibility. The teacher's positive and gentle guidance helps these beginning students learn to move in correct form while still encouraging the childs own creativity.

No Auditions, Every Child Is Welcome:
While enrollment space at NWB's Summer Dance Camp remains available, we welcome all children to participate. No audition is necessary and your child need not be former student of the Northwest Ballet School.  If you need help or more information to determine the best or most appropriate class for your child please call us at 360-714-1246.

Dance Attire for Summer Camps:
Girls may wear any color of leotard with pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Boys should wear black tights or leggings with a white T-shirt and either black or white ballet slippers.
Tap shoes for boys and girls can be purchased, or there are also some rental tap shoes available at Northwest Ballet.

Dates for Childrens Summer Dance Camps:
There are 3 Sessions of 2007 Summer Dance Camp at NW Ballet School of Classical & Contemporary Dance:
Session I ...  July 7, 8, and 9
Session II ... July 14, 15 and 16
Session III ... August 18, 19 and 20
Kids may attend all or only one or two of the Summer Dance Camp sessions. There is a one-time Summer 2007 Registration fee of $15.
