| Bellingham,
Washington's own ballet 'boot camp', training ground for serious dance students,
ages 9-21, returns to the Northwest Ballet School of Classical & Contemporary
Dance July 21st through August 15th, 2008. The Northwest Ballet Summer Intensive is well named. Dancers are offered an intensive program which includes classical ballet technique, pointe & solo variations, jazz, modern dance, lyrical dance and hip-hop. The summer dance program provides an ideal environment for dancers who are committed to achieving a higher level of technique and artistry, and who may wish to pursue a career in dance. Northwest Ballet Summer Intensive participants, who take at least three of the four program weeks offered, will be able to perform in Daphnis & Chloe on August 15th, 2008 at McIntyre Hall. You will be amazed at how your classical ballet technique, dance skills and confidence improve in Northwest Ballet's positive, nurturing environment. Behind all good dancers are good teachers and a time honored curriculum that works. Students and parents can both feel confident that this always has, and always will be the main priority at Northwest Ballet. Our qualified and experienced dance instructors will be conducting all classes. With serious dance classes which always include some not too serious fun, Northwest Ballet Summer Intensive is hands down the most challenging, artistically rewarding and enjoyable time you can have while you're indoors and out of the sun dancing this summer! Ballet Summer Intensive Location: All NWB Summer Intensive programs take place at the spacious Northwest Ballet facility in the heart of downtown Bellingham's Cultural District, 1417 Cornwall Avenue, Suite 201. Our three separate dance studios, two with professionally sprung floors, are located on the second floor across the street from from Allied Arts of Whatcom County Gallery and the Pickford Cinema. We are in close proximity to a number of charming downtown restaurants and cafes, as well as unique local merchants. Transportation: Bellingham's Northwest Ballet is a one and a half block walk from the WTA Transit Station which serves greater Whatcom County and includes daily bus service to and from Mount Vernon's SKAT Station serving Skagit Valley and Whidbey Island. For information on bus schedules call 360-676-RIDE (7433) or visit WTA on the web. Housing: Room and board throughout the NWB program is not presently available for attending students who live outside of Bellingham, WA. A limited amount of billeting may become available with local dancers families, on a first come - first served basis, for an additional housing & meals fee to be determined. |
